Why do you think voting is important?

Hello everyone, in this blog i´m going to talk about this question: Why do you think voting is important?

Regarding the vote, I have mixed feelings, and I find both arguments for and against.

I consider myself an anarchist, that is to say that I do not believe in the legitimacy of power, or hierarchy. Therefore, I also strongly question Representative democracy.

On the one hand, I think that voting is a way of validating and participating in a deeply rotten system. To vote is to reduce oneself to the game of the ruling class that imposed a false democracy, because those who really rule the country are large companies and families like the Luksic, which control the means of production.

On the other hand, I think that voting is important for a matter of lesser evil: I would vote, for example, to prevent someone like Piñera from being president. In the end, no matter how much one does not believe in the system, one must realize that the vote is our only institutional weapon to avoid abuses by the ruling class. It is our duty to vote so that others do not choose for us. With the vote we can enforce our ideological positions, or at least vote for the position that is closest. Despite this, I still believe that big changes are not made at the ballot box.
